Makeup artists offer their tricks of the trade to upgrade your look.
Read on to discover great insider tips from four amazing makeup artists. Learn from the masters— make an appointment and have them give you a makeup makeover.
Gail Sagel, Makeup Artist and Owner of FACES Beautiful invited Ms. Moffly to her studio to try out some of her favorite tricks. FACES Beautiful is a full facial and hair salon. They sell complete skin care and cosmetic lines, including the FACES Beautiful line— check out her awesome Brush-On Liquid Mineral Foundation: it's a primer, concealer and tinted foundation all in one. Schedule an appointment for a 60 − 90 minute "Makeup Lesson" with Gail or one of her makeup artists— $90. They will help assess your own makeup stash, too. If you have a special event coming up and want to look your best go for their "Makeup For You"—$60.
Here are the tips and tricks Ms. Moffly learned from Gail:
- Eyebrows should NOT be waxed; it pulls the collagen out and immediately ages the skin.
- Instead of an eyeliner pencil use a mineral powder with a wet "smudge" brush, then smudge the color into your lash lines. It creates a softer appearance.
- Change the placement of your blush: sweep it on the top of your cheek bone up around your temple. It gives you an instant facelift.
- Change your face regime with the seasons. In the wintertime wash your face in the evening only. How dirty can your face get while you sleep? In the morning, after you shower, just spray or splash on your toner and then moisturize, etc. as usual. It will help protect your skin from becoming dry and irritated.
- Avoid cotton balls, they are very harsh on your skin. Instead use a washcloth; it's much gentler and acts as an exfoliator.
